Improving cooperativeness with a simulation system
Traffic and drive simulation are utilized in various R&D such as autonomous driving, V2X, driving support, traffic control, and IoT. By using animation and result values, it is possible to repeat the drive in multiple patterns and analyze and explain that result. However, any real-time simulation linkage is required in order to dynamically reflect control instrument, driving support, traffic control, or accident measures.

This time, "Simulation Real-time Linkage Option" has been released against a backdrop of system built results with UC-win/Road SDK. This option improves the cooperativeness, so that transfers simulation results in VR environment to TCP/IP in real-time, and override of own vehicle control and HUD display commands such as messages and images for the HMI simulation is also available. Moreover, "system option" is newly provided, supporting linkage items and command customization to satisfy individual needs.
 Overview of the linkage function
Once simulation starts, UC-win/Road is connected to an linked application. After this, simulation results in UC-win/Road are sent to the linked application by every simulation step, and the application receives and handles it. According to this process result, simulation control and messages are sent back to UC-win/Road.

The contents provided by this function are the sample programs and their source cords of UC-win/Road's option plug-ins and linked application.

 Linkable contents
UC-win/Road transfers the following information:
  • Vehicle information: Physical quantity of vehicle state, quantity of operation control, lamp condition, information of roads
  • Pedestrian information: Location
  • Traffic light information: Current traffic phase, remaining time, location
  • Event information: Event during simulation
Information about accidents occurred by scenarios and the user interface is one example of the "event information". This can be customized according to user's needs.

In addition, ID information that can be itentified is sent to each object in the simulation. When some drivers are traveling in the same virtual space by using multi user cluster structure, vehicle information of each driver is transmitted and vehicle control comment can be made against the every information.
 Linkage operator screen
An operator screen for monitoring and controlling of linkage is available. You can add/delete occuring simulation event, monitor your own vehicle's collision, display information about pedestrians, vehicles, and traffic lights in the dedicated 3D screen, in addition to settings of application to be connected and start/finish of connection.

 Collaboration with SILS
By combining this function with the SILS (Software in the Loop System) of UC-win/Road Ver.12, you can run simulations faster than in real time in the accurate cycle. This function will be extremely useful for a repeated experiment like autonomous driving and sensing simulation.
