(Up&Coming 2017 Fall issue)

On the 20th and 21st July 2017, Forum8 exhibited its technologies at two forums, Automotive Engineers Forum (AES) and Robotics Engineers Forum (RES), that were held continuously in Bangkok, Thailand.

RES is held for the purpose of the technical exchanges related to robotics and the personnel exchanges between engineers in Thailand and overseas, and visitors are invited from the Institute of Field Robotics (FIBO) of King Mongkut's Institute of Technology in Thailand.

Also, Department of Robotics, Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University from Japan co-hosted this forum. This event aims at global human exchanges between young robotics engineers, incubation of global level robotics technology exchanges and business-level collaboration, business development in the Thai market, and so on. At this 1st RES, Forum 8 exhibited and mainly introduced UC-win/Road and utilization of virtual reality, cooperation with robot arm, UAV, Lily Car, and IoT.

AES is positioned as a gathering of industry-academia cooperation on automobile technology and is jointly held by Thailand's Smart Mobility Research Center of Chulalongkorn University and Japan's Green Mobility Collaborative Research Center (as known as Green Mobility Research Institute, Institutes of Innovation for Future Society) of Nagoya University. The scale has been expanded than last year, automobile manufacturers, suppliers, material manufacturers, academics experts, and administrative officials discussed the advanced automotive technologies of Thailand.

This is the third time that Forum8 attend this exhibition, and we showcased large driving simulator combined with UC-win/Road, the latest features of UC-win/Road Ver.12, and simple driving simulation on laptop. In addition, we received many inquiries such as construction of a base model for automobile traffic simulation, possibility of cooperation with test environment related to ITS and ADAS.

Forum8 has delivered the 6DOF simulator for Chulalongkorn University which hosted this exhibition, and expects it to use the simulator for automobile dynamics development, verification of each algorithm, and experimental environment. We will continue to strengthen our development in Thailand and Southeast Asia.
