On March 18th 2021, FORUM8 Co., Ltd. (2-15-1 Konan, Minato-ku, Tokyo. President Yuji Ito. URL: https://www.forum8.co.jp/english/) received the 2nd prize "Special Advisor Award Furuya Keiji (First National Resilience Minister) Award" for "Japan Resilience Award" from the Association for Resilience Japan with its comprehensive resilience enhancement activities based on the VR platform.
At the award ceremony held on the day in Akasaka, Minato-ku, Mr. Toshihiro Nikai, the proponent of national resilience, and the special advisor Mr. Keiichi Ishii, the former Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism also attended. With the theme "Resilience enhancement by the VR platform linked with FEM/CAD/Cloud software and the integration of infrastructure digital DB", FORUM8 was selected as the 2nd Prize among 61 award winners. Mr. Keiji Furuya, the first National Resilience Minister commented, "Important things for the national resilience is doing activities which will be effective from the normal time to the emergency time and connecting those activities to the growing strategy. I am expecting for everyone's contribution to the community development from the both aspects of software and hardware."
FORUM8, which has developed and evolved the 3D virtual reality software UC-win/Road as a pioneer in the industry, has built the VR platforms by making the most of flexibility and expandability of packaged software. In addition, FORUM8 has spread VR technologies not only in the civil engineering and construction industry that was the FORUM8's first business field but also widely in the whole society. Also, FORUM8 has developed and provided FEM software (from 2003) and software for civil engineering design calculation based on the specifications of reconstruction ahead of the industry, and by providing these seismic design tools and infrastructure digital DB (for road and bridge), FORUM8 is working toward the realization of digital twin and the comprehensive resilience enhancement.

In August 2020, FORUM8 acquired "Resilience Certification" that is given to organizations agreeing with the idea of national resilience and doing activities related to business continuity actively.
In the future, FORUM8 will pour more effort to promote the DX and the simulation-base build-out that handles issues on city, society, and environment by developing and providing the "Virtual Platform System (F8VPS)" to reproduce every 3D environments on cloud and realize realtime communication. At the same time, we will strengthen maintenance, disaster prevention/mitigation, etc. by developing and linking infrastructure digital databases, aiming at keeping Japan's infrastructure more flexibly and strongly.
