  Introduction
While the ultra micro data center® (UMDC) realizes space-saving and low-cost, it supports high speed graphic calculation, and it is an ideal server machine for structuring a system such as VR-Cloud® that uses 3DVR on the cloud server.

This time, a fan controller is installed in the power supply and within the case, and silence improvement of the fan has been done. Also, various improvements has been done such as adopting parts for servers and developing hard disk holders.
The functional overview is introduced in the following.
  Design
Low cost have been realized by using ordinary desktop hardware for the installed parts such as the motherboard and the graphic card. Also, it can be extended by having the end-user himself to freely select the parts. Even in a case of failure, parts can easily be replaced, and maintenance costs can be greatly reduced.
The design of the case and the power supply unit is all done in FORUM8, and the production is also all done in Japan. The power supply unit supports output of 400W. By making it cable detachable, connecting redundant cables becomes unnecessary. The length of the cable can also be customized, so the cooling performance inside the case can be improved.
The cooler fan is cooling the CPU/GPU using the fan less cooler fan and the 60mm custom cooler fan made by Scythe. A fan controller using micro-controller and temperature sensor is installed to the power supply and inside the case from Ver.3, realizing both cooling performance during high load and quietness during no load state. Also, an application for temperature monitoring that can be USB transmitted has been developed in FORUM8, realizing thermal and sound pressure management on the desktop.
It has an extensibility in regard to the front panel, and the Front USB installed this time goes without saying, due to the design development of the holder, installation of DVD/BD Drive and server monitoring liquid crystal display can also be installed.

  Performance
  • OS Windows 8 Professional
    MotherBoard Intel S1200KP (mini-ITX C206 Chipset)
CPU Intel Xeon E3-1240v2 (8M Cache, 3.40 GHz)
GPU nVidia GeForce GTX 760 (2048MB GDDR5 Memory)
Storage Intel SSD 530 180GB (SATA)
    Memory KingSton DDR3-1600 8GB x 2
    ECC unbuffered
This time, by adopting parts for servers in the Motherboard, CPU, and Memory, excellent reliability and potentiality has been realized. Also, the development of an original hard disk holder has been done in FORUM8 in order to built-in an SSD. Currently, four hard disks and a maximum of 8TB can be installed, but in the future, 16 hard disks and a storage server maximum of 32TB will be possible using RAID card due to board design.
