Introduction
The content of the chapter of an earthquake-proof design changed greatly in specifications for highway bridges in 2012. "Seismic waveform record of new specifications for highway bridges", "M-φ of the reinforced concrete section", and "M-φ in the steel-made pier section" are supported for the dynamic analysis of this product.
Specifications for highway bridges in 2012 is supported.
Seismic waveform of new specifications for highway bridges
In the new specifications for highway bridges, type I shape of waves of the level 2 earthquake motion was changed. All shapes of waves which is necessary for a dynamic analysis are included in the following.
  "<Product Installation Folder>\samples\Waves\BridgeDesign"

M-φ of RC section
It enables you to input concering the allowable warp of reinforcing steel and to confirm the result in the input screen about specifications for highway bridges (Figure 1). Stress strain curve of concrete is changed from the ultimate strain 0.8σcc to 0.5σcc. From these conditions, you can get M-N interaction diagram and M-φ characteristics (Figure 2). The new specifications for highway bridges is specified to perform dynamic analysis in the nonlinear history model of bi-linear type.

M-φ of steel pier section
Figure 3 shows the input screen related to the new specifications for highway bridges of when rectangular cross-section without concrete filling. Here, input an allowable strain εa of steel pier and confirm the result. It is possible to determine each parameter when εa is calculated is in a range of application. You can also get M-N interaction diagram and non linear history model for steel section (Figure 4).

The other support
  1. New high-strength reinforcing bar SD390 and SD490 have bee added to materials database.
  2. The limited compression strain of concrete εccl and An allowable strain εst2, 3 of reinforcement were added as a damage criterion as for hysteresis used for fiber element.
  3. Parameter r and CR when concrete is filled in the residual displacement calculation type of the steel-made pier have been  changed.
 Demand response
There are three items "Function to take the shape of cross section made on CAD and function to output by the DXF/DWG format", "Standard output of the basic load chart", and "Figure and numerical value of the distribution spring reaction force" as a function additions other than new specifications for highway bridges.
Finally
The concrete setting method about M-θ model which model plastic hinge by nonlinear rotational spring is not described in new specifications for highway bridges. It is planned to support gradually when the reference of the example of design calculation etc. is published in the future.
