FORUM8 Co., Ltd. is going to make a presentation in "The 9th ITS EUROPEAN CONGRESS" next week. The theme of this year’s congress is "Real Solutions for Real Needs".
The 9th ITS EUROPEAN CONGRESS is held to support transportation engineering, planning and multidisciplinary professionals responsible for management and operations of transportation systems and FORUM8 will be join this congress with BMIA, a French traffic consultants.
Please attend this great congress by all means and have fun with our latest technology!

Name : 9th ITS EUROPEAN CONGRESS
Date : June4, 2013 - June 7, 2013
Place : The Convention Centre Dublin
Spencer Dock
North Wall Quay
Dublin 1 - Ireland
Presentation by FORUM8 and BMIA, France
In the congress, FORUM8 will present the application of its state-of-the-art VR-Cloud® in cloud computing in transport planning, and BMIA will present on the G'Val, 3D Visual Simulator designed for training tunnel operators. Here is a sneak preview of their presentation.

"The Application of Cloud Computing in Transport Planning through Developments in Interactive 3D Simulation Technology": A presentation by FORUM8

The design and planning of urban and transport infrastructure has undergone a tremendous transformation. Not only has the available software technology changed considerably, so have the requirements and demands of the stakeholders.

Local and National Government officials are under increasing pressure to not only justify what they plan to do in words and pictures, but also to show the proposed new developments in a medium that is far more easily understandable to the ordinary 'man in the street'. In the recent past the only way to do this was by calling 'town hall meetings' and displaying large photographs, video clips or solid models.

A more convenient, economical, environmentally friendly, and faster way of doing this is by taking advantage of an interactive cloud computing.

Brendan Hafferty, Western Regional General Manager of FORUM8, will show how the use of the very latest interactive 3D software can be integrated into the very latest Cloud Computing technology and in so doing expand the consensus building process to anyone with access to the Internet.

This cloud computing technology is indeed, FORUM8's VR-Cloud®

VR-Cloud® complements the company's leading 3D Visual Interactive Simulation software VR-Design Studio (formerly UC-win/Road) by enabling its 3D interactive environments to be accessed and manipulated over the Cloud. Anyone with Internet access will be able to view new transport developments and even walk or fly through the proposed new 3D Space at will. No longer will they have to rely upon fixed views of new buildings, bridges, highways etc., they will be able to experience what the new environment will actually be like within the virtual environment of their own PC. One of the key benefits of using the Cloud to deliver these 3D models is the fact that the stakeholder (member of the general public or indeed any other interested party) does not require any special computer hardware. All they need is good Internet access.

"G'Val: the Application of 3D Visual Interactive Simulation Technology to Road Stakeholders Training & Management": A presentation by BMIA

Road stakeholders, as well as road operators in the control centres, operate in an increasing complex context: constant technologies change and systems, permanent evolution and hardening of operation rules and security, need of reactivity of operators to unpublished situation, lack of specific tools for the training of operators etc.

Philippe Marsaud, technical director of BMIA, French traffic consultants and FORUM8's premier partner, will present on the amazing technology of G'Val as well as its application to Road Stakeholders training and management.

This 3D Visual Simulator with real time traffic, has been designed to meet targeted to these recurrent problems of the TBM sector professionals and proposes a development in a realistic situation of actors and the equipment of tunnels particularly to test the reaction of operators in an emergency situation, without constraints to assess and validate the various assumptions and solutions proposed operating rules for this, cockpit interface, action plan and communicate impactful with a realistic visual simulation of their projects.
