He joined Korea Institute of Civil Technology (KICT) in 2002. After working at a road safety company for 4 years, he took his current position at Industrial Technology Research Institute, Chonnam University in 2019.
March 15th Shanghai Special Lecture
"BIM and Simulated Driving Simulation Technology in Traffic Safety Evaluation"
Implementing traffic safety evaluation research in the highway design stage is an effective means to reduce the safety risk of highway operation. At present, a relatively mature experience has been formed for the safety evaluation of conventional road sections. However, there are still problems to be solved in the simulation driving and safety evaluation of complex environments such as interchanges, bridges, and tunnels. The report summarizes the traffic safety evaluation methods, expounds the key technologies of combining BIM and simulated driving in highway safety evaluation, analyzes the typical driving behavior indicators in safety evaluation, and finally predicts the development direction of simulated driving technology for highway traffic safety evaluation.

Lecturer: Prof. Nengchao Lyu (Intelligent Transportation Systems Research Center, Wuhan University of Technology)
He is the outstanding youth of Hubei Province, standing member of the Youth Science and Technology Workers Committee of the China Communications and Transportation of Association, chairman of the Safety Analysis and Improvement Technical Committee of WTC, committee member of ITS China. He focuses on scientific research and talent training in intelligent connected transportation, assisted and autonomous driving, road traffic safety evaluation, etc. He presided over 4 National Natural Science Foundation of China, 6 provincial and ministerial projects; presided over more than 20 intelligent transportation related projects. Based on the research, more than 80 papers have been published, and more than 20 patents or software copyrights have been obtained. He has won 5 provincial and ministerial awards including the Hubei Province Technical Invention Award.
March 22nd Taipei Special Lecture
"Application of 5G and VR in education and learning, its achievements and future prospects"
Based on the development of 5G communication technology, this presentation will introduce the results of the 5G technology learning demonstration school project promoted by Taiwan's Ministry of Education in 2021-2022 and the focus of 5G technology diffusion in local governments and schools in 2023-2024. Finally, the use of VR in education based on 5G technology and its future prospects will be introduced.

March 24th Qingdao Special Lecture
"Application of VR simulation in road safety research"
Improving road traffic safety is inseparable from people, vehicles and roads. As an important method for studying the safety of drivers' driving behaviors, driving simulation provides a safe, convenient and accurate simulation of the impact of drivers on road accidents. Regarding driving simulation using UC-win/Road, he will talk about how to study the impact of 'human-vehicle-road-weather' on the driving risk and to identify the main factor of driving risk in bad weather conditions. This will provide valuable advice to relevant authorities on road safety measures and improved road design.

Lecturer: Prof. Chi Zhang (School of Highway, Chang'an University)
His main study is on road safety and smart transport, with research on methods for identifying high-risk sections in the design phase of mountain highways, safe design methods for longitudinal gradients on long downhill sections of mountain roads, and road infrastructure digital foundation platforms and BIM standardization. Visiting Prof. at Clemson University, US, Manager of the Department of Intelligent Engineering at Chang'an University, Director of Shaanxi Road Infrastructure Digitalization Engineering Research Center, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Road Engineering Division of the World Transport Conference (WTC). Engaged in 2 projects of Chinese national core research development as a manager and joined a lot of projects by governments. He wrote 85 papers and 2 books, acquired 9 invention patents, and received 11 scientific research awards from ministers.
March 29th Sydney Special Lecture
"A Quantum Leap for Transport applications of quantum computing in transport and traffic"
Quantum computing is developing out of its nascency and being used to solve real world problems. Transport and mobility systems have hard complex underlying models that need to be solved to improve efficiency. Quantum computing provides an opportunity to solve these problems. The talk discusses some of the key innovations undertaken in this area.

Lecturer: Prof. Vinayak Dixit (School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New South Wales)
