In June, FORUM8 (2-15-1 Konan, Minato-ku,Tokyo. President Yuji Ito. URL: http://www.forum8.co.jp/english/) will conduct a disaster prevention seminar in three cities in Asia; Taipei, Shanghai and Seoul. An authority on the evacuation analysis, Prof. Edwin R. Galea (The Fire Safety Engineering Group (FSEG), Greenwich University, UK) will be invited and explain the latest functions and cases of the evacuation / fire analysis soft EXODUS/SMARTFIRE. The new functions of UC-win/Road and various disaster prevent solutions which take advantage of VR will also be introduced and demonstrated. EXODUS/SMARTFIRE is a simulation system that was developed by FSEG of the University of Greenwich to evaluate the behavior and movement of people at normal times and in case of emergency. It has been used for fire or evacuation analysis of a lot of major institutes such as London Millennium Dome or Sydney Olympic Stadium. This model tracks the path of each individuals to evacuate the room and the analysis results will be shown in VR by the simulation function of UC-win/Road. At FORUM8 Design Festival 2015, Prof. Galea has described his observations about evacuation measures in big cities in the lecture "Evacuation Analysis of a Large-Scale Event", mentioning the cases of November 2015 Paris attacks and Tokyo Olympic 2020 . He will kindly provide the latest information including these researches and developments in this seminar.
