With the vision of creating a Civil Engineer's Forum, we have been providing civil engineering support software for individuals in different industries. Using our CAD design software for civil engineering structure and aseismatic design/analysis software, we support various engineers and professionals who engage in infrastructure foundation and help to increase their productivity. Our products have certainly contributed to society both directly and indirectly. With the recent Information Technology revolution, we need to develop more technically advanced software such as VR (virtual reality) software and 3D nonlinear analysis software. Continual proposal of these new technologies as a pragmatic tool will eventually lead us to the path of success through the acquisition of new business opportunities in the market. The latest technologies of VR simulation is now utilized in the automobile industry. Through the creation of interfaces with popular and effective applications such as traffic and evacuation analysis, we embark on our journey to provide higher-quality solutions. We firmly believe that these solutions will contribute to the development of society in terms of safety and environment. Recently, our software has been introduced to foreign markets and is increasingly becoming more international. Many of employees currently working at FORUM 8 are from foreign countries. 	In recent years, we are constantly reminded of the major devastations caused by earthquakes all over the word. This leads to the recognition that seismic resistant structures are very important and the peace of mind from the dangers of natural disasters and accidents is vital. FORUM8 has been providing our customers with a wide range of products and services; nevertheless, we are constantly broadening the range of civil engineering software products and services, and we are constantly researching and developing to meet the market's ceaseless demands. FORUM8 is a software house that is supported by the customers who use our software products and services. We recently enhanced UC-1 Series Design Solutions in the areas of "hydraulic engineering", "construction", "maintenance/risk analysis" and "maritime/evacuation". FORUM8 provides powerful software solutions to those in civil engineering, architectural and construction fields by developing our own software programs, as well as by localizing international software programs to be offered to our customers. In addition, "Harbor" and "Traffic" solutions are to join the UC-1 family, offering even wider range of solutions to our customers. Regarding the technical support service, as well as the EXODUS/SMARTFIRE (evacuation/fire) analysis support service, we also started the xpswmm (flood/inundation) analysis support service. We are also increasing the number of software seminars and free-of-charge "experience seminars" to aid our customer support. There have been a total of 644 seminars up until the end of October 2008 with a total of 5,420 attendees. One of the most important missions of FORUM8 is to develop unique and versatile software programs. Our flagship products, UC-win/Road and UC-win/FRAME(3D), have continued to grow. However, VR-Studio(TM) and Engineer's Studio have been released in 2009 to develop into our next strategic products. Naturally, our efforts to bring about advancements in our software products in the fields of VR and analysis will continue to be made, but active expansion of the related services and hardware developments, such as the driving simulator, will continue also. We believe that we will be able to meet the customers' expectations and create great opportunity for all of our users in the coming years.

	Advanced Software UC-win
	To enhance the development work of advanced software, Forum8 established the software development office "Forum 8 (NZ) Ltd." in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 1996. The UC-win Series introduces ingenuity and ideas unique to an English-speaking country, as a series developed in cooperation with FORUM 8 NZ. The 3D virtual reality software "UC-win/Road", released in May 2000, is our original software which offers new design methods for various fields of profession. Advanced features are being added and improvements made to keep pace with the progress of information technology and equipment year after year. In 2002 this product was awarded as the Software Product of the Year (presented by the Software Information Center) in the social/life category (public division). Released in November 2002, "UC-win/FRAME(3D)" was developed as an analysis and design program necessary in the transition from conventional item-regulated design to performance-verified design. Practical use of this highly accurate analytical program in 3D analysis, nonlinear material analysis and geometric nonlinear analysis is broadening. In addition, we have increased our line-up of foundation FEM analysis series, in an attempt to expand our business both internationally and domestically. In order to reach the next level, we released the first versions of the "VR-Studio" and "Engineer's Studio" as our next strategic software programs. 	Production of advanced technologies
	Maekawa Model was developed at the Concrete Research Lab in the University of Tokyo, and it is the highest acclaimed non-linear structural analysis method in the world. FORUM8's WCOMD and Engineer's Studio(TM) utilizes Maekawa model for analysis of Reinforced Concrete (RC) by simulating the cracking of concrete, the yielding of steel reinforcements, and eventually collapse. UC-win/FRAME(3D) and UC-win/Road incorporate Large Deformation Analysis Theory by Hon. Prof. Shigeo Goto from Saga University to perform Super Large Deformation Analysis on such structures as cable structure and membrane structure with a high degree of accuracy. In the future, we plan to support analyses of plate and COM3 models in Engineer's Studio(R). In the field of foundation analysis, our collaborative development with Prof. Ukai's laboratory at Gunma University has been implemented, providing products under the themes of 3D analysis, dynamic analysis and elasto-plasticity analysis. We believe that it is vital to utilize outstanding research findings in actual design products, and thus, we will continue to work closely with researchers to provide such products. In the field of VR, FORUM8 annually host "International VR symposium". The world's leading researchers collaborate with FORUM8 in applying VR into their own research projects and develop newest technology. We will be publishing books on "VR" and "structural analysis" in collaboration with academic researchers. 	UC-win/Road Support system VR modeling and engineering service This cutting-edge service, offering creation of simulation data using 3D virtual reality, started in October 2001. Full-scale support of simulation needs in public projects, private development projects, as well as road construction and city planning, is offered. Dynamic 3D VR simulation is a powerful consensus-building tool for engineers and presenters. Forum 8 offers new VR applications in various fields.
